Hot Rods Get Extra-Inning, 7-6 Win
Despite a fine performance by third baseman Robert Mena, the Burlington Bees lost to the Bowling Green Hot Rods, 7-6, in 10 innings. Mena was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The Hot Rods, at 32-81, sit in last place in the Midwest League Eastern Division.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Bowling Green center fielder Juan Fernandez, facing Tony Rivas, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Hot Rods the 7-6 win.

"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said Bowling Green field general .
