Kernels Keep Streak Alive With 3-1 Win
|
The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Lansing Lugnuts played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
Cedar Rapids used a superb performance from starting pitcher Raykel Herbach to down the Lansing Lugnuts, 3-1. Now 72-30, the Kernels have won 12 games in a row.
Dusty Harkey broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the fifth with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Kernels in front, 2-1. For the game, Harkey was 1 for 2. He drove in 2 runs.
"I was talking to myself on the mound, saying 'attack, attack, attack, stay convicted, no matter what,'" said Herbach.
