River Bandits Use Late Score to Top Snappers, 4-3
|
Quad Cities beat Beloit at Modern Woodmen Park, eking out a 4-3 win. The triumph was primarily due to right fielder Jeff Wheeler. He was 3 for 3 with 3 singles and 2 walks. Quad Cities reliever Pat Bartsch was the winner. His record is now 3-1. Jake Adey took the loss. The River Bandits saw their record improve to 57-42.
Dave Barnes was the walk-off hero for Quad Cities. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the River Bandits third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
