Dragons Victors, 6-3, at Quad Cities
|
Quad Cities got a terrific game from left fielder Jadiel Amendola. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Dayton, 6-3. Amendola went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. Ted Kaplan claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. His record stands at 1-1. Picking up his 7th save was 22-year old left-handed pitcher Eric Hood.
Dayton used a clutch at-bat from Mike Pina to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Dragons ahead, 6-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We took home the win," said Pina. "What's not to like?"
The Dragons go to 50-47, putting them third in the Midwest League Eastern Division.
