Hot Rods Lose Again, 2-0, to Kernels
|
In a tight game between the Bowling Green Hot Rods and the Cedar Rapids Kernels, nobody was more important for the winners than Pete Kleinschmidt. Kleinschmidt was masterful in the 2-0 win. Kaleb Koger got credit for the win, improving to 7-2. He allowed no runs on 7 hits in 7 innings. Pat Chappel got the save, the 18th for him this season.
With Cedar Rapids leading 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Kleinschmidt came up to bat against Bowling Green pitcher Tim Richey. Kleinschmidt hit a cutter to left for a solo home run. His 9th home run of the season put the Kernels on top, 2-0.
"I like our vibe," said Kleinschmidt. "It's a winning vibe."
Cedar Rapids, having won 10 in a row, is now 70-30.
