Clinton Gets 4-3 Win Versus Bowling Green in 10
|
The Clinton LumberKings clipped the Bowling Green Hot Rods, 4-3, in 10 innings at NelsonCorp Field. The standout performance belonged to Clinton pitcher and San Francisco, California, native Steve Engelmeyer. Ted Campbell, credited with the win in relief, is now 6-8. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 1 innings. Their 41-53 record puts the LumberKings 6th in the Midwest League Western Division.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Clinton first baseman Felix Pardo, facing Bobby Gingerich, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the LumberKings the 4-3 win.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Bowling Green skipper .
