Timber Rattlers Capture 7-0 Win at Four Winds Field at Coveleski Stadium
|
Wisconsin got a strong outing from Ron Hardy as the Timber Rattlers defeated the South Bend Cubs, 7-0, at Four Winds Field at Coveleski Stadium. Hardy, now 2-0, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 1, walking 2, and allowing no runs. The Timber Rattlers, at 41-51, inhabit 7th place in the Midwest League Western Division.
Dan Elliott went 2 for 5 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Wisconsin. The 21-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the third. With no one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a 2-run single off Marc Wahlstrom. It was his 7th hit of the season.
