The South Bend Cubs beat the Clinton LumberKings, 6-5, in part because of right fielder Jon Day. He was 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Johnny Parisi picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-3. Adan Schultz was tagged with the loss. The win puts the Cubs at 47-37, while the LumberKings drop to 36-48.
In the top of the 11th, Day hit a tie-breaking 2-run home run to help the Cubs capture the win.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Clinton manager . "The effort was great."
