Dayton and Peoria scratched and clawed until someone claimed the prize.

In a tight tilt between the Dayton Dragons and the Peoria Chiefs, Kevin White was the difference-maker. The Dayton right-hander excelled in his team's 1-0 win in 10 innings. Vince Elbert snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-2 on the season. Jerry Gonzales suffered the loss. Getting the save was Elijah Plummer, his 10th.

The most important at-bat for Dayton came in the top of the tenth inning, when second baseman Dan Lewis stroked a 2-1 fastball to right for a run-scoring single, putting Dayton up, 1-0.

"Our team found a way to get it done," said Lewis.

Dayton has now won 5 straight, while the Chiefs have lost 9 in a row.
