The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Quad Cities fans at Modern Woodmen Park.
A.J. Ell helped his team muscle past the Lansing Lugnuts, 6-3. In the game, the Quad Cities left fielder was 2-5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Quad Cities reliever Jonathan Garibay picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Phil Knutson took the loss. The save was credited to Jon Bosch, his 14th.
Freddy Walker aided the Quad Cities cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the second. For the game, the shortstop was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk.
Quad Cities manager commended his team for "bagging a nice win."
Quad Cities goes to 29-13, Lansing to 20-22.
