Peoria and Lansing duked it out and the Chiefs came out victorious.

The Peoria Chiefs went home winners at Cooley Law School Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Josh McCarthy. McCarthy stifled the Lansing Lugnuts, enabling Peoria to grab the 4-1 win. Earning his 3rd save of the year was Jon Cossin.

Alex Cabral had a direct impact on the outcome. Cabral contributed a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put Peoria up, 2-0.

"I was just taking it batter by batter, just enjoying the moment," said McCarthy.

Peoria is 7th in the Midwest League Western Division with a record of 12-17.
