Streaking Bees Win Another One, 6-4
|
Not everyone stuck through the 63-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.
Getting offensive support from Joe Jones, the Burlington Bees topped the Lansing Lugnuts, 6-4. Jones went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Bees. Burlington reliever Luis Davila picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Jonathan Bongolan took the loss. Andy Gibson earned the save for Burlington, his 7th of the year.
Jones had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 0-1 fastball from Jonathan Bongolan, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Bees a 6-4 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Jones.
"We're in a little funk right now and we've just got to get ourselves out of it," said Lansing manager .
Burlington, at 20-5, has sizzled in the early going.
