Loons Earn 6-5 Win Versus Wisconsin
|
Wisconsin center fielder Jeremy Dunn had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Dunn went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored once, even as Great Lakes beat the Timber Rattlers, 6-5. The winning pitcher was Danny Cobas. He's now 3-1. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits for the Loons. Andy Zazueta picked up his 6th save of the season.
In the bottom of the fifth, Great Lakes designated hitter Nicoláo Barriga had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Barriga stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 6-2, Great Lakes. For the game, he went 2-4 with a double.
"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Barriga told the Great Lakes Daily.
Great Lakes has a record of 10-13.
