Cougars Deal River Bandits 4-3 Defeat
|
The rain could not keep the home crowd from enjoying a good ballgame.
The Cougars grabbed a win, 4-3, at Modern Woodmen Park, overcoming a fine effort from Quad Cities pitcher Harry McNeely. McNeely went 5 innings and allowed 2 runs. The win takes Kane County to 6-5.
Kane County used the timely hitting of Joe Tedrow to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Cougars on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Tedrow. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
