Tigers Double Up Houston, 4-2
|
The Houston Astros were defeated, 4-2, by the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park, even though Mike Lusignan pitched well for Houston. Jose Padilla was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 10 of 13 save opportunities. The loss makes Houston 30-31.
The Tigers got a big at-bat from third baseman Joey Standefer. For the game, Standefer was 1-3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 25th double of the season gave Detroit a 2-0 lead.
"We missed opportunities once again," said losing manager Ron Astros GM.
