Dragons Stay Hot with Extra-Inning Win
|
The Dayton Dragons in 10 innings beat the Fort Wayne TinCaps, 1-0, at Parkview Field. Starting pitcher Nate Harris was a major factor, holding his opponents in check all game. Dayton, now 6-1, is setting the league on fire so far.
Danny Cantu's at-bat with one out in the top of the tenth was critical. The Dayton second baseman hit a sacrifice fly, to put his team on top, 1-0. Runs were at a premium and this one was huge.
"We were trying to do a difficult thing -- winning a game without scoring," said Fort Wayne manager . "That's not going to work out."
