The Dayton Dragons had to overcome a big game from Kane County designated hitter Brad Medina to leave Day Air Ballpark with a victory. And they did, winning, 8-5. Medina was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Kane County falls to 1-2.

Bill Barcelo took Kane County hurler Brad White deep in the bottom of the eighth. His grand slam home run put the Dragons on top, 8-5. In all, Barcelo had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.

"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Barcelo told the Dayton Today.
