Angels Need Extra Frames to Get Past Orioles
The Los Angeles Angels weathered a fine game by Baltimore designated hitter Alex Molina to upend the Orioles, 8-7, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Molina went 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Los Angeles reliever Sid Sobczak was the winner. His record is now 5-2. The losing pitcher was Joel Bruner. Victor Cirilo earned his 17th save, after closing out the game.

Los Angeles needed the clutch hitting of Joel Fuller to seal the deal. The left fielder swatted a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Angels on top, 8-7. For the game, Fuller had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Baltimore manager Lloyd Boston. "But we decided not to take it."

Los Angeles goes to 37-17, Baltimore to 23-31.
