The Chicago White Sox dealt the Houston Astros a 5-4 loss at SouthSide. Steve McGovern was the star on offense. He went 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Luis Cota picked up the win, improving his season record to 3-6. He struck out 6 in 7 innings. The win makes Chicago 32-20.

Dave Loomis had a big run-scoring double for the White Sox in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Chicago leading 4-3 and a runner on 3rd, he got a fastball from 30-year old right-handed pitcher Demesu Waitimu and swatted a double to left. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the White Sox ahead, 5-3.

"If it's down the middle," said McGovern, "you might as well hit it."
