Seattle Claims 6-4 Victory
|
The Seattle Mariners picked up a win at Richter Field, dropping the Minnesota Twins, 6-4. Dan Hamrick, who leads the AL with a 10.1 K/9 rate, was the difference-maker. Hamrick, now 3-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 8, walking 2, and allowing 4 runs. Steve Cuevas closed the game out for Seattle, earning his 12th save.
Seattle used a well-timed hit by Josiah Bedolla to capture the win. The center fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Mariners ahead, 5-4. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Bedolla.
Seattle is now 26-22, Minnesota 22-25.
