Steve Swift imposed his will on the Padres from the get-go. Relying mainly on his sinker, the right-hander spearheaded the 5-1 Las Vegas triumph. The Athletics raised their record to 25-22.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Phil Murray? The Las Vegas first baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Athletics on top, 2-1. For the game, Murray had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
