The Corpus Christi Hooks could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Bobby Kulig into a win. Instead, the Amarillo Sod Poodles prevailed, 4-3, in 10 innings. Kulig threw 5.1 innings allowing 1 run. Amarillo reliever Jim Unknown picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Jon Bosch was tagged with the loss. The Sod Poodles now have a record of 40-92 with the win over Corpus Christi.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 2nd and two out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when center fielder Bobby Jacobson hit a run-scoring triple. The Sod Poodles went on to win.
Jacobson attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
