Biscuits Thwart Naturals, 3-1
|
Nate Leonard never let the Naturals get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his sinker, to pitch the Biscuits to a win, 3-1. The winning pitcher was Leonard, now 4-3. He tossed 5.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 4. With the win, the Biscuits have a record of 70-61.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Biscuits had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when first baseman Sergio Palma hit a 2-run single. The single came off Ben Sabat and made the score 3-1, Biscuits. Palma was 2 for 3 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.
"Every loss hurts," said Northwest Arkansas manager . "But this was a tough one."
