Trash Pandas Saddle Sod Poodles with 3-0 Loss
|
Rocket City and Amarillo duked it out and the Trash Pandas came out victorious.
In a low-scoring tilt between the Rocket City Trash Pandas and the Amarillo Sod Poodles, Alex Venegas, who leads the TXSL in strikeouts with 100, was the difference-maker. The Rocket City right-hander spearheaded the 3-0 win. Venegas picked up the win for Rocket City, going 7.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 11-7.
Israel Avena had a big 2-run double for the Trash Pandas in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Rocket City leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from former first round draft pick Dylan McDaniel and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Trash Pandas ahead, 3-0.
"Every play was important. Every out was important," said Trash Pandas manager .
The win makes Rocket City 73-59.
