Sod Poodles Lose Late to Travelers
|
The Travelers grabbed a win, 4-3, at Dickey-Stephens Park, overcoming a fine effort from Amarillo pitcher Edgar Perez. Perez went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Charlie Ayala, now 5-3, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. Arkansas is now 58-63.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, an error by the Sod Poodles allowed the Travelers to score the winning run.
O'Brien told a Arkansas Chronicle reporter that he was "very pleased" with the win.
