The Pensacola Blue Wahoos weathered a fine game by Midland first baseman Josh Granger to upend the RockHounds, 7-5, at Security Bank Ballpark. Granger went 3 for 3 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Pensacola reliever D.J. Dempsey got the win, raising his record to 6-2. Gavin White was tagged with the loss. Sean Jackson closed it out for Pensacola, earning his 22nd save.

Pensacola used the timely hitting of Sam Anthony to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Blue Wahoos on top, 7-5. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Anthony, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."

Their 44-69 record puts the Blue Wahoos 9th in the TX/SL Southern League.
