Naturals Collect 10-7 Win Over Shuckers
|
The Biloxi Shuckers extended their losing streak with a defeat by the Northwest Arkansas Naturals.
The Northwest Arkansas Naturals topped the Biloxi Shuckers, 10-7, in 11 innings. Northwest Arkansas right fielder Chris Bauer, in particular, was impressive. He went 3 for 5 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Jonathan Mendez earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. His record is now 4-3.
Northwest Arkansas used the clutch hitting of Nate Steiner to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to give the Naturals the lead, 8-7. For the game, Steiner had 1 single and 1 double in 6 at-bats.
"I know everybody in here is putting in the work," said Biloxi manager . "It's just not paying off."
The Naturals, at 46-58, have now won 4 straight.
