In the 5-4 Montgomery win over Biloxi, the impact of Jim Mitchell was substantial. Mitchell went 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while scoring 2. The 5th-place Biscuits now have a record of 54-47.
With Montgomery leading 3-2 in the top of the sixth, Mitchell hit a run-scoring single off Biloxi hurler Vince Kennan. It was the 26th hit of the season for Mitchell and put his team ahead, 4-2.
"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Mitchell.
