Drillers Suffer Humbling Loss
The Montgomery Biscuits put together a convincing win at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium, defeating the Tulsa Drillers, 12-3. Rick Laverde was one of the hitting stars. He went 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for Montgomery. Ed Kalkofen was the winner. He's now 3-2. The loser was Vito Lozano. The Biscuits raised their record to 51-46.

Laverde contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Montgomery in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 3-2, Laverde took a fastball from Vito Lozano and stroked the home run to right-center. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Biscuits to leap in front, 5-3.

Said Tulsa manager after the blowout loss: "Son of a gun."
