Nationals Done In By Cardinals, 1-0
|
St. Louis Cardinals starter Sean Baker turned in a sterling performance against the Washington Nationals, leading his team to a slim, 1-0 win. The Cardinals raised their record to 18-22.
Bobby Guier, who finished 2nd in the NL in home runs with 38 last year, had a direct impact on the outcome. Guier contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put St. Louis up, 1-0.
"Winning is all that really matters and we got it done today," Guier told the St. Louis News.
