Chris Jeffers was a major factor in the 7-2 Greenville win over Greensboro. The Drive catcher went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times. The winning pitcher was Reginald Cummins. He's now 1-0. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits for the Drive. With the win, Greenville pushed its record to 66-63.
Doug McPherson was 1 for 4 for Greenville. The 25-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Curt Blalock. It was his 18th RBI of the season.
