The 3-RBI night of shortstop David Corona, who is tied for 4th in the SAL in bases on balls with 84, helped the Asheville Tourists triumph, 8-3, over the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers. Asheville, at 66-58, holds down second place in the South Atlantic League Southern Division.

Corona had a key at-bat for Asheville in the bottom of the second. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and gave Asheville an early 2-0 lead.

Corona attributed the win to his team's "concerted effort."
