Cooper Powers Shorebirds to 7-6 Win
Delmarva first baseman Josh Cooper had a 3-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 7-6. Delmarva reliever Jumah bin Jumah picked up the win to move to 1-0. Tim Hunt suffered the loss. Delmarva, at 46-62, occupies 6th place in the South Atlantic League Northern Division.

Delmarva used a clutch at-bat from Frank Ruiz to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Shorebirds ahead, 7-5. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Cooper told a Delmarva Daily reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
