Red Sox Jolt Mariners, 8-5, with Late Rally
|
The Boston Red Sox trumped the Seattle Mariners, 8-5, at T-Mobile Park. Boston first baseman David Alarcon was terrific. He was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The Red Sox improved their record to 12-22 with the win over Seattle.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Andy Ernst? The Boston center fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Red Sox on top, 6-5. For the game, Ernst had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Alarcon told the Boston Observer. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
