Shorebirds Stop RiverDogs, 1-0
|
The Delmarva Shorebirds reigned over the Charleston RiverDogs in damp conditions.
The Delmarva Shorebirds picked up a win at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park, knocking off the Charleston RiverDogs, 1-0. Starting pitcher Jake Meltzer played a key role in the triumph. The win gives Delmarva a season record of 53-37.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the seventh, with the game tied, Elijah DeMoss was at the plate when Delmarva scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Shorebirds to go in front, 1-0.
"Jake was dictating to their hitters," said Delmarva manager .
