RiverDogs Drop Power, 6-5
|
Charleston beat West Virginia at Appalachian Power Park, escaping with a 6-5 win in 10 innings. The win in large part was due to center fielder T.J. Holiday. He went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win belonged to Ben Belanger in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Mike Hamblin took the loss for West Virginia. Charleston improves to 46-25 with the win. They lead their division by 3½ games.
Charleston took advantage of an error in the top of the tenth inning. The game was tied, 4-4, when Tommy Fish hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put the RiverDogs in front, 6-4.
"We found a way to get it done," Fish said.
