Vick Helps Marlins Defeat Giants, 6-4
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Miami Marlins and San Francisco Giants.
The Miami Marlins downed the San Francisco Giants, 6-4. The hitting star was third baseman Andy Vick. Vick was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Marlins. Phil Larsen earned the win to go to 2-4. He allowed 3 runs on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts in 5.1 innings of work.
With Miami leading 3-2 in the bottom of the second, Vick hit a fastball from Jesus Ojeda for a 2-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Marlins ahead, 5-2.
"It was a solid, all-around game for us," said Miami manager Derek Jeter.
The loss makes San Francisco 15-18.
