Tourists Capture Close Win
|
The Asheville Tourists used a stellar performance from pitcher David Aleman to throttle the West Virginia offense en route to an extra-inning, 3-2 win at McCormick Field. Randy Thompson notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record now sits at 3-2. Asheville is now 39-30.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Asheville second baseman Jim Bormann, facing Andy Huguley, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Tourists the 3-2 win.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Aleman.
