Chezik 3-for-3 in Crawdads Win
|
In a high-scoring contest between Hickory and West Virginia, first baseman Jeremy Chezik was a difference-maker. Chezik, who is tied for 10th in the SAL in runs scored with 35, distinguished himself in the 12-8 Hickory win. He was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. By defeating West Virginia, the 5th-place Crawdads improved to 23-35.
Andy Faurot was 1 for 5 for Hickory. The 20-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring single off Alexis Escobar. It was his 39th hit of the season.
"This game had a little bit of everything," said Faurot.
