Loss Tarnishes Fine Performance by Thompson
Hagerstown shortstop Jim Thompson was sensational. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Delmarva beat the Suns, 12-7. Alex San Juan closed the game out for Delmarva, earning his 2nd save. The win makes Delmarva 20-23.

Kevin Stastny was a prime contributor to the Delmarva win. He went 1-5. In the top of the third with two out, the 24-year old first baseman hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 4-1, in favor of the Shorebirds.

"They played a better game than we did," said Hagerstown skipper .
