With center fielder Vince Boardman leading the charge, the Rome Braves defeated the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 9-3, at State Mutual Stadium. Boardman, who is tied for 8th in the SAL in home runs with 6, was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Rome sits in third place in the South Atlantic League Southern Division at 20-17.

Rome took control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, Joel Miller hit a 2-run single to make it 5-3, Braves.
