The Chattanooga Lookouts got a stellar effort from pitcher Josiah Matthews, helping Chattanooga score a win over the visiting Midland RockHounds, 4-2. The winning pitcher was Matthews, now 1-0. He tossed 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 2. Jayden Thornton recorded his 10th save for Chattanooga.

Randy Ligori had a big 2-run home run for the Lookouts in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Chattanooga leading 2-0 and a runner on 3rd, he sized up a fastball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Jeremy Ball and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Lookouts on top, 4-0.

"What's not to like about a win?" said Ligori.

Chattanooga is now 48-39, while Midland is 46-41.
