The Amarillo Sod Poodles defeated the Frisco RoughRiders, 5-3, in TX/SL action at Dr. Pepper Ballpark. Amarillo pitcher Wencer Waltz had a standout performance. Amarillo reliever Chris McLeod picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Mike Kosobucki was saddled with the loss. The Sod Poodles sport a record of 29-54.

Amarillo used a clutch hit from A.J. Pickrel to snatch the win. The designated hitter belted a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Sod Poodles ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was huge.

Pickrel said afterward that he was glad to contribute to the win.
