Biscuits Get Close Win Over Shuckers, 6-5
The Biloxi Shuckers could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Vince Kennan into a win. Instead, the Montgomery Biscuits prevailed, 6-5. Kennan threw 7.1 innings of shutout ball. Montgomery reliever Bryan Holloway was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Bob Kennedy. Montgomery now has a record of 47-35 with the win.

Ismael Saavedra was the walk-off hero for Montgomery. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Biscuits first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Saavedra told a Montgomery Daily reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."
