Rum Runners Advance to Western & Plains Championship Sunday, November 11th , 1906 It was a rousing finish to the League Championship Series at Steinbach Grounds today. The Moose Jaw Rum Runners sent the Steinbach Mennonites home for the season with a 8-2 win in the decisive game of the series. The Rum Runners took the series 4-3. Up next on their schedule is the Western & Plains Championship. Hauling in the MVP trophy was Moose Jaw left fielder Gastón Gómez. His numbers included a .419 batting average, 5 RBIs and 7 runs. "With any luck, I'll be hoisting another one of these at the end of the Western & Plains Championship," he said. The Moose Jaw Rum Runners will play against the Calgary Chargers in the next round. Calgary won their series against the Kamloops Fur Traders 4 games to 2. The Western & Plains Championship schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
