Playoff baseball is the ultimate experience: the once-in-a-lifetime chance of winning the Western & Plains Championship.
Beginning today, every player will be under intense pressure. Players might come through in the clutch or fail to rise to the challenge. Managers will be analyzed, second-guessed and third-guessed by observers across the land, all in the span of a nine-inning matchup. The luckiest ones will be there to hoist the championship trophy up to the deafening roar of the fans.
It all starts today with the League Championship Series and these clashes:
Kamloops Fur Traders vs Calgary Chargers and Moose Jaw Rum Runners vs Steinbach Mennonites.

W&PL Headline News: Regular Season ends

The 1905 Western & Plains League season has ended. Most clubs and most players are headed home for the year, but a few good teams will head to the playoffs, which are slated to start soon. They will get a chance to be the league's champion. All they have to do is win the Western & Plains Championship -- a not-so-easy task. To win it takes a combination of good pitching, good defense and timely hitting -- and occasionally some lucky bounces of the ball.
