Steinbach Mennonites Win Top Spot in Plains League Monday, October 29th , 1906 Alcides Álvarez said it takes "a lot of dedication and sacrifice" to win a division title. That's why he and his Steinbach Mennonites teammates were so excited to celebrate their Plains League championship today. "It's been a team effort all year long," he said. "You don't get to this point without the guys in the room believing in what we're doing." That belief has paced the club to a 75-55 record on the season. It is the club's 4th Plains League championship and puts them in position for their 2nd Western & Plains League championship. "It's a talented bunch in that room," manager Julio Piceño said pointing to his celebrating players. "I wouldn't bet against us." |
