Draveurs Show No Mercy in 9-0 Thrashing of Insulaires Thursday, June 1st , 1905 Ed Townsend of Gatineau easily handled the Laval Insulaires, stopping them on 1 hit and chucking a complete-game 9-0 shutout. "He really did a job on us," said Laval manager Elias Peak. "He had good command of his pitches. He changed speeds well and confused us. We never could zero in on him, but he certainly zeroed in on us." He finished the game with 5 strikeouts and 1 walk in a solid outing. So far this season, Townsend has logged a 5-2 record with a 1.74 ERA. He has started 7 games, hurled 62 innings and registered 30 strikeouts and 21 walks.
