Barons Fizzle in 1-0 Loss to Tradesmen
Thursday, July 12th , 1906
Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Winchester Barons as starter Clyde McDermott shut them out, 1-0, at Winchester Fields. The Birmingham pitcher struck out 2 and walked 3 while allowing 10 hits.
"McDermott was good but he wasn't flawless," Winchester manager Ernesto Pérez said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from Birmingham, but this is on us."
This year, McDermott has fanned 50 in 138.2 innings and collected a 5-12 record with a 3.50 ERA.
