Barons Fizzle in 1-0 Loss to Tradesmen Thursday, July 12th , 1906 Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Winchester Barons as starter Clyde McDermott shut them out, 1-0, at Winchester Fields. The Birmingham pitcher struck out 2 and walked 3 while allowing 10 hits. "McDermott was good but he wasn't flawless," Winchester manager Ernesto Pérez said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from Birmingham, but this is on us."
