Sonora Blanked by Serrano, 1-0
Thursday, June 28th , 1906
Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Sonora Chacales as starter Palamedes Serrano shut them out, 1-0, at Estadio de Sonora. The Mexicali pitcher struck out 3 and walked 1 while allowing 6 hits.
"Serrano was good but he wasn't flawless," Sonora manager Radamés Burgos said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from Mexicali, but this is on us."
To date, Serrano has a 3-4 mark in 8 starts with a 3.48 ERA. He has given up 65 hits in 62 innings, struck out 19 and issued 18 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .274 batting average against him.
